PharmaCare Plan C (Income & Disability Assistance)
Automatic first-dollar drug coverage if you are on BC income, disability or hardship assistance. PharmaCare pays the full cost of eligible drugs and dispensing fees at the pharmacy counter.
What it is
Enrolment in those programs automatically enrols you in Plan C — there is no separate application. It also covers prostheses and orthoses including offloading devices for diabetic foot ulcers, ostomy supplies, and insulin and insulin pumps (insulin pumps need an approved Special Authority request from a doctor).
Who it is for
You cannot be charged for medications or dispensing fees covered by Plan C. Medical devices and supplies are the exception — they are exempt from PharmaCare's Full Payment Policy, so a pharmacy or device provider may charge you above the maximum eligible cost.
