Fair PharmaCare
BC's main drug plan for anyone enrolled in MSP. It pays a share of your eligible prescriptions based on family net income — the lower your income, the sooner and the more it pays. Free to register.
What it is
Assistance is tied to family net income from two years prior and coverage applies automatically at the pharmacy counter. After a family meets its deductible PharmaCare pays 70% of eligible costs, or 75% if a family member was born before 1940. After a family reaches its family maximum, Fair PharmaCare pays 100% of eligible costs for the rest of the year. Who it is for
Return the consent form within 30 days of registering. If you do not, temporary coverage ends and your family's deductible is set at $10,000.
Amount or value
Income-based drug coverage. Family net income of $13,750 or less: PharmaCare pays 100 percent of eligible costs from the first prescription. Up to $30,000: no deductible, with a family maximum between $100 and $800. Above that a deductible applies, then PharmaCare pays 70 percent, and 100 percent once you reach your family maximum.
